Frances Cummings's Story
Frances Cummings Simons, 78, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Gunn officiating. Burial will follow at Warthen Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Simons was born Oct. 30, 1939, in Warthen and lived most of her life in Milledgeville before moving to Warner Robins. She received her certificate in Community Bank Management from the University of Wisconsin in 1981. She was retired for Century Bank & Trust. She was preceded in death by Zack Brown Cummings and Mattie Lou Kelly Cummings, and brothers William Durward Cummings and James F. Cummings. She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of more than 60 years, Malcom Ray Simons; her daughter, Doris S. Peavy (Gerald); her son, Johnny Simons (Bunnie); sister, Jean C. Smith and Linda C. Parker (Bobby); and her brother, Carl S. Cummings (Jean); grandchildren, Jamie Caraway (Gary), Haley Becker (Taylor), Elena Larrauri Hicks (Ryan), Lindsey Garretson (Jeremy), Juan (Tony) Larrauri (Lauren); great grandchildren, Davis Ray Caraway, Rees Gilman Caraway, Ellis Andrew Frost and Kyli Garretson; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
