Mrs. Elfriede Eleanore Majanovic, 86, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Memory Hill Cemetery in Milledgeville.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Majanovic was a native of Graz, Austria. Elfriede and her husband, Dr. Mahmud Majanovic, came to Milledgeville in 1956 and most of their lives were as residents of Baldwin County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Majanovic, her sister Krista Schwarzenbart, and her parents, Albert and Christine Gollob. Elfriede was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Jasmina Rice M.D. [Marty Rice] and her son, Mahi Majanovic [Beverly Majanovic]. Three grandchildren, Jennifer Jessup [husband Matt Jessup and 'her' new great grand-daughter Lula Eleanore Jessup], Leland Warren, and Phebe Warren; her brother, Albert Gollob [Gerda]; nieces and nephews, Thomas Schwarzenbart [Ingo] and Sabine Schwarzenbart, and Peter and Susanna Gollob. Extended family includes Dinka Majanovic and the Majanovic family throughout Bosnia and the Rice family [Jake, Madeline, Will and Hannah].
Heartfelt thanks to her neighbor Sibley Veal, her caregivers Janice Broughton and Desby Saunders, and Dr. Simbo Aduloju of Georgia Cancer Specialists.
