Dixie was a native of Florida. She was raised in the Quitman/Morven area. After high school and College, she moved to Cordele to teach English, speech, declamation, and One-Act plays. There she met and married Billy. They had their two boys, Michael and Mitch, in Cordele. They moved to Athens while Billy pursued his master's degree and had their third child, Candice. They lived in Perry from 1974 until their move to Milledgeville in 1982. Dixie's family cherishes memories of her amazing love, warmth, and devotion to being a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Longino; sons, Michael Longino of Atlanta; Mitch (Pam) Longino of Milledgeville; daughter, Candice (Jeb) Massie of Valdosta; grandchildren, Miles and Aaron Longino; Callee and John Massie; sister, Diana Lynn Weger of Quitman; niece, Merce (Kevin) Lam of Renton, Wash. and nephew, Tony Santaella of Columbia, S.C.
