Charlie's Story

Charlie Finch, Jr. age 67, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday March 11th, 2017 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Kittle officiating. Burial will follow at McIntyre Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Finch was a native of Greene County and had made his home in Baldwin County. He was retired from the Baldwin County Board of Education with 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Bryan and Dorothy Nicholson Finch Stapp, sisters Mary Jo Black and Carol Anderson, sister-in-law Lollie L. Peavy. He was a CB Radio enthusiast and his handle was Georgia Hillbilly. He was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Susan L. Finch, and son Alex Leon Moon both of Milledgeville, 5 brothers Morgan Stapp (Louanne), LeRoy Stapp, Jr. (Brandy), Eric Stapp (Christie) and Warren Stapp all of Eatonton and Thomas R. Finch of Colorado Springs, CO, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Colson (Joe) of Savannah, Barbara Vining (Glenn) of Eatonton, Ruby Griffin (Bobby) of Ivey, Linda Minter (Grady) of Eatonton and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
